The Polar Express (2004)

Movie Review

Directed by: Robert Zemeckis

Starring: Tom  Hanks, Daryl Sabara, Nona Gaye, and Peter Scolari

Billy (Tom Hanks) is a young boy who does not believe in Santa Claus.  This is mostly because of his family’s insistence that every aspect of jolly old Saint Nick is not real.  When he boards the Polar Express, a magical train on its way to the North Pole and Santa’s home, Billy is introduced to an entirely new world that will help him to finally believe in the magic of the Christmas season.  In Robert Zemeckis’ The Polar Express, Tom Hanks showcases his voice acting talent.  Playing nearly every important character in the film, Hanks Is able to keep this boy’s discovery of the meaning of Christmas both fun and refreshingly innocent, while Zemeckis creates his own magical, imaginative vision of the North Pole using motion-capture animation.  The Polar Express is definitely a film worth adding to your annual Christmas viewing.
