A Christmas Story (1983)

Movie Review

Directed by: Bob Clark

Starring: Peter Billingsley, Darren McGavin, and Melinda Dillon

Nine-year old Ralphie (Peter Billingsley) has his heart set on a Red Ryder BB Gun for Christmas.  Ralphie is focused on convincing his mom (Melinda Dillon) and his dad (Darren McGavin) that a gun is exactly what he needs in 1940s Indiana.  Meanwhile, mom and dad are getting into it about a lamp shaped like a woman’s leg, and Ralphie must deal with bullies at school.  A Christmas Story is the perfect Christmas movie.  This holiday classic couples childhood innocence with the chaotic nature of any American family.  Check this wonderful family film out as soon as you can.  No alcohol is needed for this one.
