Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl (2003)

Movie Review

Directed by: Gore Verbinski

Starring: Johnny Depp, Orlando Bloom, Keira Knightley, and Geoffrey Rush

There’s nothing like some good swashbuckling action, and Pirates delivers all you can handle.  Captain Jack Sparrow (Johnny Depp) finds himself joining forces with Will Turner (Orlando Bloom), a blacksmith from Port Royal, Jamaica, to rescue Elizabeth Swann (Keira Knightley), the governor’s daughter from cursed pirates.  She was kidnapped by Captain Barbossa (Geoffrey Rush), a mutinous first mate, who exiled Captain Sparrow long ago.  Pirates of the Caribbean is a fun ride you’ll love.  Gore Verbinksi brings the famed Disney ride to life in this spectacular adventure full of great special effects, impressive swordsmanship, and plenty of big laughs.  In honor of good ol’ Captain Jack, I should recommend a shot of Bacardi as the drink of choice, but this movie is too good for that.  Just have a few wine coolers although I definitely would understand if you have some rum.
