The Departed (2006)

Movie Review

Directed by: Martin Scorsese

Starring: Leonardo DiCaprio, Matt Damon, Jack Nicholson, Mark Wahlberg

Frank Costello (Jack Nicholson) is at war with the Boston police.  Both sides do what's necessary to take down the other.  Costello sets up Collin Sullivan (Matt Damon) as a mole in the police department.  The police set up Billy Costigan (Leonardo DiCaprio) as a mole in the Irish mafia with Costello.  With moles on both sides of the playing field, hell breaks loose in Boston.  The Departed is a tale of murder and deceit that captivated audiences around the world.  It's an intense crime thriller that takes us on a brutal journey where the cops and the crooks continuously raise the stakes.  This is one of Martin Scorsese's finest films and one of the best films of the last decade.  The Departed has a great supporting cast including Alec Baldwin, Martin Sheen, Ray Winstone, Anthony Anderson, and Vera Farmiga.  Check this film out any day of the week.  It definitely gets a sober rating.
